Although this year’s regional Skills USA competition was postponed and eventually cancelled due to weather earlier this month, Career & Technical Education students from both our CTE centers (in Troy and in Hudson) will move on to the state competition April 26-28 at the NYS Fairgrounds in Syracuse. Winners were selected through several smaller local competition due to the cancellation of the larger regional event.

15 students from Rensselaer Educational Center in Troy and 17 from Columbia-Greene Educational Center in Hudson will advance to the state finals.

The SkillsUSA competition, which is judged by industry professionals, tests technical and professional skills through hands-on and written contests including construction, information technology, cooking and baking, restaurant management/customer service, job skill demos, welding and more.

Congratulations to all the students who will represent Questar III at the State Competition in April!
