Deanna Cooper joined Questar III in November as Director of Adult Education. Learn about her background and the work she does to serve adult learners in the community.
Deanna Cooper is Questar III’s Director of Adult Education
What is your role at Questar III and where do you work?
I’m the Director of Adult Education and I work out of the Central Office.
How long have you worked here?
Two months.
What is your background like- previous jobs, education, etc.?
I started doing workforce development in late 80s and moved into adult education. I have a MS in Health Education and a Ph.D. in post-secondary and adult education. I have an extensive background developing and delivering educational programs based on public policy and specific expertise in public welfare programs.
How do you see your role as supporting the BOCES and its customers?
My role is to serve Questar III’s adult student population. Adult education students are students at any level of education who are looking to increase their knowledge and skills to get jobs, get better jobs, or just to continue their journeys as lifelong learners.
What do you like most about your job?
Getting to know the communities and people that Questar III serves.
Tell us a bit about your life outside of Questar III (hobbies, other interests, etc.)
I love to learn and one of the best ways to learn is to experience new things. I experience new things through travel. I always have at travel adventure in the works.
