Questar III BOCES is offering a combined GED prep/pre-GED prep at the Greene Accelerator located at 270 Mansion Street in Coxsackie. Class will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The GED Prep, or High School Equivalency Preparation Program, is the cornerstone of Questar III’s Adult & Continuing Education program. This class, which is for adult students whose reading and math scores are at the 9th grade level or above, is designed to prepare adults for taking the GED exam. This includes teaching in the five subject areas covered in the exam as well as other essential academic competencies such as communication, goal-setting, and decision-making. Participants who have passing practice test scores can sit for the official GED exam administered throughout New York State

The Pre-GED Preparation Program is for adult students with reading levels that fall between the 5th and 9th grade. The program also covers all five subject areas of the GED exam but places heaviest emphasis on vocabulary and reading comprehension and mathematics skills covered on most standardized tests.
