Commissioner MaryEllen Elia visited several classrooms at the Rensselaer City SD campus and Castleton Elementary School and Maple Hill High School in Schodack Central School District. Elia also held a meeting with school district superintendents at the Questar III Central Office after spending time with the students.

New York State Education Commissioner MaryEllen Elia visited students in Rensselaer and Schodack before joining local superintendents for a conversation about some of the state policy changes underway and SED’s vision for public education moving forward.

Elia visited a Pre-K classroom at Rensselaer Elementary School and got some demonstrations from Questar III’s Alternative Energy & Clean Manufacturing Technologies CTE program, housed in Rensselaer High School. In Schodack, she visited a fourth grade math class at Castleton Elementary School and talked with students in science classes at Maple Hill High School.
