Questar III’s LPN program in Hudson excelled at the New York State HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) Spring Leadership Conference competitions held at the DoubleTree Hotel in Syracuse April 25-27th.

HOSA is for students in health career areas at both secondary & post-secondary/collegiate levels.  It is a student organization whose mission is to promote career opportunities in health care and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.

HOSA promotes education, scholarships, networking & employment opportunities available to students in health careers.

Questar III’s LPN Chapter continues to demonstrate confidence & competence through their success in competitions. Competing against 265 students, the following eight students won a total of nine medals:

First Place

  • Tara Harpis (adult) – Medical Terminology
  • Nayia Patel & Monique Porter (adults)- Career Health Display

Second Place

  • Sheila Goering (adult) – Prepared Speaking & Pharmacology
  • Alicia Downey (Ichabod Crane)-Medical Math
  • Heather Kenney (adult) – Clinical Nursing

Third Place

  • Shannon Curtiss (adult) – Medical Terminology
  • Pam Bassett (adult) – Medical Math

All of these winning students are eligible to participate in the HOSA National Leadership Conference competitions in Orlando, Florida which will be held June 20th – 24th.
